Here you go! A very bold title. It was found written in one of my Grade 6's English exercise book. The first time ever in my life, learning English formally in school. I never really liked English until now. But I have no idea why the heck did I wrote this back then.. LOL
And now somehow I got a lot better in English than Malay. Not really sure if it was good thing or not. I really do. At least I'm much comfortable & confident to speak in English in public. This blog tells it all anyway.......
Nonetheless I won't make my current situation as an excuse to abolish Malay. By using the word "abolish", I mean I won't neglect the usage of Malay, and I will try my best to get better in Malay although I won't have any chance of learning Malay formally any time soon.
I admit how important it is English in our lives, and that's one of the reason I became this way. But I'm still with my stand that it is not worth at all sacrificing Malay for that one particular language that society made us believe how important it is.
It's hilarious how when we speak in a good English people will respect us. No, it's not that bad actually. Thing got worse when we speak in Malay, people look down. To me, whoever deny this fact are just ignorant. Get out of the rural are you're staying in and come to my place. Learn in a private learning institution. You gotta wear and speak like the Western to get a higher respect you deserve.
But I won't. I won't make a fool of myself by speaking in English about simple things when I can fluently speak in Malay. I'm not gonna use such nincompoop way to gain respect. I will study hard, act & wear decently, and put my moral & religion value first in any situation. May Allah always help me.
