Bikini vs Niqab: Do Both Control Women? Part 1

Thursday, July 17, 2014
Google
I recently watched a session discussing the topic above in Youtube, here's the link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdb_KDG0CH8 I'm not putting it here because it's inappropriate.

I was attracted to the title because at a glance, I thought it was a debate. It was not. To conclude, she only praised how good bikini is and how bad niqab is. That's not a debate, that's just a video of a woman, talking about her opinion which was totally biased I must say.

I have my respect towards anyone, regardless their attire. I don't mind at all, I don't judge, I've never thought of them as any of those negative thoughts, NO! I understand they just wanna feel beautiful, just how I love being beautiful. We just have our own way and beautiful itself is subjective. That's why I kinda disagree with the lady in the video generalizing women who wear niqab.. So unfair and rude.. :/

If you don't want others to generalize hookers = bikini, don't generalize Muslims either! Only some of Muslim cover themselves because of those negative reason, just like how only few people who wear bikini just to look like a hooker. Am I right? Bikini is just a swim wear and niqab is just a fashion unusual to some of us, that's all, respect it!

What is a bikini?

Generally, it's a two piece swimming suit. In a simple word, it's a two piece woman underwear, made of fabric like lycra. Fabrics which won't make you heavy in water..

What is a niqab?

A niqab is commonly worn by Muslim women in Middle East, it covers the entire face, revealing only their eyes. It's a very thin, breathable piece of cloth. It is not an obligation for Muslim women. Muslim women are allowed to expose only their face and hands (from wrist to finger).

I'm not going to elaborate what she talks, here's my version of Bikini vs Niqab. ;)

Women wear what makes them feel beautiful.

Bikini : Yes, I can't disagree more. That's the truth. Only insecure women feels unconfident about showing their body. Nobody can deny the fact that women is naturally a beautiful creature. (LOL seriously, grow up!)

If so, why does some women cover up themselves when they go out? Before that, let me clarify the two types of  "covered up women" :
1. Because she is insecure about herself as I mentioned earlier
2. Simply because she wants to, only when she go out ; at home, they're the dancing queen!
3. Covered up only because it's obligation, she still wear out standing cloth
It's undeniable there are some of the 1 and 3 women among Muslim, but that's not limited among Muslims! They exists among any women around the world.

So I'm going to talk about the 2 women : because they want to cover up when they go out. These women are very confident about herself, she doesn't need to show her body to everyone, just so she can feel beautiful. No. She doesn't need those. Sounds silly?

How does Bikini makes women feel confident and beautiful? Because she is able to show her skin, walk with pride, and proves that she is not being ashamed of her body.

KAMIL peringkat zon (IV) - SAMBEST

Tuesday, March 30, 2010
SAMBEST stands for SAM Bestari. Isnt it supposed to be SAMB or something? Cz, like our school, it's SAMTTAJ. Then why there's a word BEST? They're not the "best" anyway. Ahha! Kinda weird. Mann, I'm being proud of my school, am I?? Ignore it. HAHAHA.

So I'm in english. Huh? I don't know what was I talking about cz I'm just editing it.
Anyway, the only mistake I'm going to admit is that, I've ruined my school's reputation to my parents. That would be all. Nothing more than that. Why should I apologize on the mistakes which are not mine? Sorry, isnt it a fitnah spreading someone's mistake whithout any proves? Think about it my dears :) I kno you're reading this. Representing the "one", I think you should stop it. You guys are clever, intelligent, good students arent you?, Unlike us, me.

Go ahead. I always remind this to my friends. Never cared bout what people do/did to you. Thats their mistakes. Just mind your own business. It might be hurt, just for the time being. No pain, no gain. God is testing us because He knows we can take it. He knows we're much better than others, that's why He's doing this. Think about it. Did we, or I, ever hurt you before?

SAMER stands for SAM Rawang. Yh should I tell ya where it is located at? Prepared both text, for government and opposition. Aiini and I decided to each take one side and once they've anounced who's going to be that and that, we'll go. I chose government side cz I gave all my love for it. Really. Freaking tired now, I'm serious. I don't know why. Let me end my blog this short, please? I promise the next post will be as usual. I'm really tired now. Gotta get myself ready for tomoz too. Love ya!

English Debate Discussion - Sunway Pyramid - KTM !

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

KTM stands for Keretapi Tanah Melayu. Hold on! BEfore I go any further, I know whats on your mind right noww, I'm going to tell ya briefly about the great day I had!

I woke up at 6 in the morning. It mas seems usual but for teenage in school break, we call them a freak! Nobody would wake up at SIX! There must be a hidden reason on why did I took the action (opss that was too formal for me to talk like that, aint it? :D)

Actually we have had a discussion for english debate. My team mates are, Aiini, Aimaan, and Arif. They're the best debater I must tell you. They really are. I'm just so impressive that I could be one of them. I'm one of them mann, can you believe that!? They're the best! The way they give their opinion, the way they expand their views. I'm grateful that I'm chosen by Him to be in such a great people's society. There're so many things to learn from them. Thankyou so much. Brood over my promise. I promised that I will do my best, right? And I will. THat is my best.

According to the text recieved from Aimaan, we're going to discuss at 9 am till after Zohor prayer. I don't really get the after Zohor prayer part. Umm actually I really thot the Zohor prayer is at 12.30 o clock. I always bear in mind that I'm dealing with a silly girl (which is, me). You don't have to tell me that I'm silly, I know. SOO, I promised with Amin to pick me up at school at 12 thirty!! I told Aiini that I'm leaving at 12.30 and she looked rather puzzled. I was confused. Huhh? Isnt it supposed to be at 12 thirty? NO, DEAR. It's supposed to be around after 1.30 pm. Haha. Nowayy, I don't care. I only do what I want. So, I decided to leave at 12 thirty anyway no matter what happens.

So I followed Ummi to her office and at 8.15am we left there to send Haziq to his school. He's goin to school. Don't ask me why. It's his story, his right to tell everyone. At around 8.30am, I was at the school library. I still remember Aimaan's text before my phone went insane, be punctual. Punctual. When we say punctual, I think of 30 minutes earlier. I waited. It's already 8.50am and no one of my team mates were there. Never mind, it's not that I didn't expect it. Aiini came around 8.56am. She's punctual. Soon Arif was there and he said he came to school at 7.30am. Again, don't ask me why. It's his story.

At 9.15am, I got a call. I dont know from who it was. I COULDN'T identify the caller cz my phone's screen was dying, atleast it can be called. Thank God. He said he'll be late. What!? I didn't say a thing. Who am I to complain? THey're so much better than me. I kept my mouth shut. He said he's going to bring the best debater what so ever. I wsnt that interested. I hate it when my precious time is being wasted just like that. I had a chat with Aiini. She says she's going to leave at 12 thirty too. Wee

So there was a discussion. I think he was too dependent on her *the best debater what so ever*. He could've done more than this. He's the best. He has the quality. That is why I adore him (in a good way). Hated seeing him depended on someone, cause I believe that he can do it without anyone help. Never mind, I'm not saying that she wasnt a help. She was a help. THanks, sister!

Amin did came at 12 thiry, he called me and I left the school library. Oh, and I met Hannah too. I called Ummi to tell her that I'm safed with Amin. Mwahaha *evil lauhgter*. He's a good guy (literally). We reached Sunway Pyramid and went straight away to the cinema. We're catching the Alice in the Wonderland! Yeehaww. The fact that it wasn't a 3D brought me to naught. Nevermind, don't bother bout snything else. We have to be grateful for what he had, right? So, I did :)

The movie was awesome. I like it when Anne played the role as White PRincess(don't know what we call her). She was extremely funny!! i laughed out loudly by the time I saw her!! And everyone was like staring at me. haha. I don't care.

We walked. Then we did the archery. Indoor archery was even the apple pie would laugh at the easiness for me. Bluek. That was too much :b The guy almost gave me the small bow. I was like, what the hell! Even this bow, I could pull em like hell. You're going to let me use this small bow for a baby like Nasyitah?? :b I'm not pulling you legs dear, I'm promoting yourself up :D

We walked. Nasyitah went to her home back alone. Bye bye. SO, we (five members) had a chat at Burger King. I bought a fish fellet, thats all I could eat. We were waiting for Solihin's sister actually. She said she's goin to pick us up at around 6 pm. Then when I told my Abang about it, he didnt believer. Who's stupid enough to pick you guy at 6 to sunway form Shah Alam?? It'll be taking atleast two hours mann!! And unfortunate enough, he was right. Solihin's sister was unable to pick us. We figure it out an hour after that then. It was 6 o clock. DAMMIT. So, we only have the last choice. By the Keretapi Tanah Melayu.

We took a taxi from Sunway Pyramid to the nearest KTM station. Since we didn't want us to seperate into two groups, we took a taxi. One taxi. Five passengers + 1 taxi driver = SIX. Even the sardine inside of the tin is more comfortable than us. We reached the station and silly enough, Solihin bought 6 tickets. Ehh. Aren't we just five of us?? Solihin, Me, Dada, Amir Izwan, Amin. Haha. He kept the left ticket, as a memory of the silliest day.

Seriously, I had a lot of fun taking the KTM! I miss this atmosphere. I love public transport. I'e grew up in a society which uses public transport more. I really did like it ! We reached Shah Alam safely and Solihin's mum is going to pick us up. I'm not gonna wait there alone, so again we decided to go together again. In MyVi. Haha. BUT, things become more funny when Solihin's mother said that she cudnt send us home. She had to go to SACC first to buy a dictionary. Ahh whatever. But atleast we're at Shah Alam :D

I called my brother to pick us (me and Dada) at SACC. I bought 6 pieces of Big Apple's doughnut.

Thanks everyone! I reall had a lot of fun todayy! Won't forget this day :) Love you guys~

Oh and one more thing. I swear the producer of Alice in the Wonderland did took some of the characters from Tonari no Totoro!! Especially the cat look alike the Cat Bus, isnt he??

KAMIL - Final ! 2

Wednesday, March 03, 2010
so everyone. our team, Khaldun won the parliament debate with Rushd. Dada has been replaced by Zara (I don't really know her, so I don't have much to say about), maybe cause it was last minute, she doesn't really looked prepared. I don't know if she does. Hee. Even we (Ana and I) didn't do the preparation well but at least we know what is the motion ("motion" shall mean, title :D) a month ago. We were prepared for it mentally, but not realistically (?). I've done the text for my debate last night, around 11 pm. I never thought I could finish it maann. And I'm proud of myself.

P/S : feel guilty towards Aimaan for not preparing the text earlier :( Promise won't do this again. I really feel bad everytime I do not cooperate with someone who's hoping that I will do something. Even a little bit of laziness towards doing my responsibility could make me feel really bad. I don't accept failure in my life :b

I think today was much better than the other day. I feel satisfy tho our opponent were my friends and honestly, I knew what were they going to say, but I didn't care. Suddenly thot of Aimaan and he made me feel reallyy bad.
It was last minute then it crossed my mind not to do so. Thank God. Phew.

the debate was held at 3 Taqwa on 8 in the morning. WOW. I'm still yawning man. I was kinda nervouss. I even forgot how to introduce myself and my team members chill me down. Nahh, I don't think I was nervous. I think I was toooo excited! I WAS! :D And he wrote my name on the white board "Najwa Jepun". Ok, that was annoying but because he's our senior, I didn't really care about it. In fact, I was very proud of it. Haha.

Let's count how many times, today, I used the same word xD

Ainin was good too. She was in Malay Debate, they used a microphone!! That was unfair. We had to shout~ I don't bout other members but I did SHOUTING. My parents never taught me to talk "roughly = loudly". Hoho.

So, I called my brother to pick me up at two and he came on the right time. In the car, I saw Aimaan and was thinking something is wrong. I feel like I've left something at school. Ohhh!! The present for getting the first place for debate! They're with Aimaan! DAMNNN! Hopefully he has passed it to Ana.

We went to Noodle Station with my brothers, I had an orang sorbert and they had something with noodles. I wasn't hungry for noodles.

See you soon, Dada! Love you xxx
