Beauty with a Brain.. or Heart?

By Rara - Friday, July 25, 2014

Now that you've understand my definition of beauty from previous post, let me talk about this.

Do you notice recently there are so many "beauty with a brain"? It's like a trend! Someone who achieved a CGPA 3.9, and are pretty, is somehow being praised (?), as though they're such a good role model.. Worse, anyone with a commercial look (refer to my previous post haha) and in medical field, is considered as such a perfect, complete model.. Hmm.

I totally disagree with this trend. Firstly, because those commercial look (or so-called good looking) is gifted, not something you work for (except make up.. I can't say anything). Secondly, the brain or intellectual, is also gifted from Allah.

Allah made our look and those shallow knowledge we have is also belongs to Allah. They are all Allah's. You can study hard, obtain a flyingggg colors for your exam, but that was also determined by Allah. That is my belief, you are allowed to disagree haha.

To me, getting a good grade, is just a gift from Allah, a rezeki (a fortune). Talking about rezeki, it can also be a test for us, to see if we are a humble, appreciative person or not.

Moreover, I hate it when someone studying medical = clever. Nahh. It's just a course. They learn to become a doctor. Yes, they may require a lot of memorizing, but again, is memorizing = clever? Nahh. There's nothing to be respected just because they are a doctor.

That auntie who cleans up the toilet, with a very cheerful smile, do the best in her job, should be respected. The guy cutting the grass with perfectly leaving nothing uncut, should be respected. Teenagers working in a fast food restaurant to get money for them to further their studies, should be respected.

You don't respect solely because of what they are physically ; their job, looks, what they have. No. You should respect everyone.

Beauty with a Heart

To me, "brain" is how they think. How they make decision, how they treat others, how they talk, or basically, their good attitude. Eureka! (Yeahhhhh finally got to use this word) It's their heart.. Everybody has a heart, but their heart is different. Heart, in term of moral values.

They respect people, can work well with in a group, talk nicely, humble, (bla bla bla insert good values here). A good Muslim.

These are the kind of people that I want to be.

Beauty? Alhamdulillah, I'm grateful of the features that Allah has made me, alhamdulillah they're more than complete to me, so insya Allah I can work hard to have that heart. :)

Disclaimer :

Alhamdulillah so far my academical achievement are rather excellent, insya Allah will improve more along with becoming a better person as the priority.
