To me, at this immature young age, I think money is something to be appreciated, rather than to be "loved".
If we have a lot of money, for example, our parents give us RM1000 a month, yet
we still get the scholarships because of our excellent results. To me, what we're supposed to do with the money is to use it beneficially. Buy academical books, join religious class, donate, or maybe buy gifts for our friends! Keep it just to buy those gadgets are not worth I think.. :/ It's not wrong, but to buy it "wastefully" is wrong. You know you already have it, & you don't even need, but you still buy! Just to satisfy your self. Trust me, we WILL NEVER able to satisfy ourselves using money. The more you buy, the more you desire to get something much more powerful!
But we can satisfy ourselves by spending money on others. For example, I bet you already feel noble enough by donating RM1 for some strangers right? You feel satisfied with your own donation. HAHA we're human, admit it. Buying your friends a lunch for RM10 is even too much for us right? But we don't mind spending hundreds for ______ (fill in the blank yourself).
On the other hand, if you're not that "wealthy"
(<-- LOL of course, none of us are :D), for God sake, use the money for something better. Why would you go on shopping like............. The person who's been living in the cave for years? If shopping makes you happy, then you have to keep yourself disciplined. Watch your expenses. Please.
I have a friend, whom isn't really from a wealthy family. But he doesn't mind spending his money for happiness. You know why I say happiness? He treats his friends for lunch, for entertainment together, bowling for example. Buy some presents.. It doesn't cost much, but most of us can't. We love our money so much that we forget something much important than money.. Including me.. What I noticed, his friends always ask him for help. He is the kind of person people around him won't hesitate to ask help for. Really. I adore him.
I love money, I wanna be rich, have those sports car, but at the same time, I hope I won't forget what's more important. I must already have some organization for orphans, or maybe build a mosque.. Only then I'll buy those luxury things. That's my dream. Please remind me if I forget. So I'll study hard. :)
Last but not least, to me, money belongs to Allah. We're just lucky enough to hold it. Still, it can be bad to us too, if we use it wrongly.
