Quality, not Quantitiy.

While I was reading a book entitled "Batu-Bata Kehidupan" written by Hilal Asyraf one of his point really caught me and I know next time I log in to Blogger, I'm going to write about it.

"He Who created Death and Life, that He my try which of you is best in deed : and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving," Al Mulk, 2 : 67.

In easier words, "He Who created Death and Life, to test among you, who is the best in deeds they do : and He is the Almighty and Forgiving."

We often try to do as much deeds that we can. Do 20 rakaat for Tarawikh prayers, and whoever do more, is better. People who donate 100 $ is better than those who donate 10 $. We tend to count, count, and count. But is it what Allah asks us to do? If so, why didn't He use the word "who is more in deeds" instead of  "best in deed"?

Reading the Holy Al-Quran as fast as a bullet train, forgetting all the tajwid, just to finish it as soon as possible. Why are we racing? Isn't it better to read slowly, never mind if 1 verse for a day, but we can let others check our reading, and try to comprehend the hidden meaning of each word.

It's okay if you still can't fast ever Monday & Thursday, or do solat sunat every night. First of all, let's focus on our prayers 5 times a day. Read Al-Fatihah carefully, don't rush. Spend the most meaningful 5 minutes for Allah, leave everything in this world. 5 times 5 is 25. We only need to leave this world for only 25 minutes, jst to prepare ourselves for the Dayafter. Perform that 5 prayers as soon as possible, what's more during this longggg holiday.
